After a few delays, the wonderful people at View Askew got the second trailer for J&SBSB posted tonight. It's available at View Askew and mirrored through News Askew (12.6 megs in hi-bandwith, at 1:11:03 minutes in length.) Eliza is featured in three scenes, and I've put up one or two caps from each scene (one of the big Eliza sites such as elizadushku.org will probably be all over the screencap situation, if you can't access the trailer for some reason.) The second internet trailer for 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back' that was going to be posted up at Movie Poop Shoot today, will now be up on Monday night instead. Kevin Smith just posted a message at the View Askew WWW boards, with the latest on what's happening with the movie. The guys at News Askew recently also posted another pic of Eliza with Ali and Jennifer, on the set of J&SBSB. [ photo ]
Argh. Upcomingmovies.com reports that 'City By The Sea' has been pushed back to a 2002 release date (specific date to be decided.) But the date listed on the official site is still September 24th, 2001.

A former student of jazz dancing, tap and ballet, 20-year-old Eliza broke into the movies in Last Night, alongside one-time Soul Man C. Thomas Howell. Sadly, her charmed life was blighted after a long-standing appearance on TV's Buffy the Vampire Slayer brought her to the attention of America's prison population.
SHE SAYS: "I've been getting fan mail from maximum security penitentiaries, and Death Row. What are the authorities thinking of, playing a show with young teenage girls to Death Row inmates? They write everything - disgusting things you don't even want to know about. And they send me pictures - 'Oh, here's a picture of me before I was incarcerated!' and there's some guy sat on the sofa with a bottle of beer and a moustache, and a big gut. It's so creepy. Way more creepy than Buffy."

Comic-books-turned-movies continue to be popular fodder in Hollywood and while a live-action version of 'Wonder Woman' continues through development hell, the casting rumour mill rumbles on.
'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' star Eliza Dushku (she plays naughty slayer Faith) is the latest name being thrown around as a possibility to play Amazonian princess Diana Prince.
Dushku may be the youngest actress to be linked with the project so far, but she's certainly making a name for herself away from her 'Buffy' stint. The 21-year-old actress starred opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis in the 1994 film 'True Lies' and displayed her cheerleading talent last year in 'Bring It On'. She's also just finished filming with Ben Affleck and Kevin Smith in 'Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back'.
Popcorn contacted 'Wonder Woman' producer Joel Silver's office, only to be told by a spokesperson "the story is still in development and there's no production office set up for the film yet". When asked about Eliza Dushku, we were told: "The only person who would know that is Joel." He did not return our calls, godammit!
If the rumour's true, Dushku is going to have face some tough competition on her hands, as Sandra Bullock is still the outright favourite to take the role. Producer Leonard Goldberg - also attached to the project - has already admitted speaking with the actress and that "it all depends on the script and director... she hasn't done anything this physical in a long time, and she'd like to. We'd love to have her."
As for Sandy, she says she's interested in the project but has one or two conditions. Speaking on the set of her current film 'Fool Proof', she explains she is "not interested" in the character Lynda Carter created in the 1970s TV show. Bullock goes on to say she wouldn't want her version to be "watered down" like that. Nor would she be happy about wearing the figure-hugging stars and stripes leotard that Carter made famous.
But if Sandy isn't desperate to don the suit, there are a couple of other women who would happily do so. According to Entertainment Weekly, 'Xena: Warrior Princess' star Lucy Lawless and WWF wrestling star Chyna are both keen to get hold of Diana Prince's superpowers.

Mysterio of Ain't It Cool News recently posted the lengthy interview that he conducted with Eliza on the set of 'Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back.' Of her character, she said "She's this mastermind thief, very crude talking. I mean crude as crude. My mother is going to have a heart attack! She's going to be so horrified. She's a sassy ass bitch, but determined and obviously smart, because after all she's the mastermind behind the whole heist." And when asked if she plans to stick with teen-orientated or to move into more sophisticated roles, Eliza replied "I think that comedy is a huge part of the film industry and there's nothing wrong with it, if anything those are the kind of movies I want to see. It depends on what you're in the mood for. It also depends on what the project is, who the people are and if I feel like it'll be something that'll enhance me as a person because I'm not it this to win and an Academy Award or to be the funniest person in the world. It's been revealed that the name of Eliza's character is Sissy. She's the leader of the girl-gang, (other members includes Chrissy, Missy and Justice, heh) and they're pretending to be animal rights activists when they first run into Jay and Silent Bob. J&SBSB has just started running test screenings, and apparently have been getting a great response from fans (read Kevin Smith's message about the scores it received.) Jeff Wells of Reel.com also got a look at the almost-finished cut, and his glowing column is available here. On the flip-side, one of the people using eOpinions at Ain't It Cool News has posted a totally nasty review here.
Finally, there's a Boston Globe article floating around that answers the (well, my) question as to when Eliza shot 'City by the Sea' (at the same time that she was shooting 'The New Guy'.) Sorry for the lack of updates recently, life has been crazy. But a must mention is that the exclusive internet trailer for 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back' was posted a few days ago, with loads of Eliza. It's up at moviepoopshoot.com, a View Askew parody site that's supposed to tie in with the movie itself. News Askew also has provided links to the mirror for the trailer.
The guys at News Askew has said that their server is being hammered with requests for the trailer, so I imagine that moviepoopshoot.com is even worse. I downloaded it fine a few hours after it was posted - your best chance would be to try late at night, if you're having trouble DL'ing it now. But in case anyone is having trouble getting a look, I've made ten caps of Eliza appearances in the trailer. Everything copyrighted to View Askew. J&SBSB also has a new release date of August 24th. This is interesting, because it's currently the same date of release as 'Soul Survivors' - provided that 'Soul Survivors' doesn't move again. (There was an interesting snippet about SS in the Entertainment Weekly Summer Preview issue which said that part of the reason for the delay was that the director refused the studio's request to add a nude sex scene involving two female characters. To which the studio responded by bringing in its own editor and recutting the film several times. No middle ground between X-rated and PG-13, huh?) 'The New Guy' also has an official new release date of September 28th. Warner Bros. has opened an official site for 'City by the Sea' where the date listed for opening is September 24th.
