Wrong Turn Opens
Wrong Turn opens today in 1,615 theatres. From the Hollywood Reporter:
The other new wide release in the crowd is the New Regency-acquired/20th Century Fox-distributed horror pic "Wrong Turn." Starring Eliza Dushku ("Bring It On"), the film was produced by Summit Entertainment for $15 million and is looking for young males to tune in to its campy horror. Directed by Rob Schmidt, the story revolves around six young people trapped in the woods of West Virginia and hunted down by three cannibalistic mountain men who are grossly disfigured. The R-rated film will bow in 1,615 theaters.
You can purchase tickets (or find where the movie is playing in your area) on MovieTickets.com.

Creature Corner and Fangoria have specialised reviews from a horror movie perspective up on their site.

And just a reminder that Eliza will be on E! News Live tonight to promote the movie.

Eliza Interview at FilmForce
Many thanks to TheTruth: FilmForce has posted an interview with Eliza where she was asked about 'Wrong Turn', 'Buffy' and 'Tru Calling.'
DUSHKU: [Wrong Turn is] probably not going to be for everyone. It's just become such a thing of, "What makes a good movie?" and "Is this movie gratuitous?" and "Is the violence gratuitous?" Well, yeah, a little bit, because it's a horror movie. I mean, it's not The Hours and it's not Liar Liar. It's not a comedy, it's not a drama, it's a horror movie. So if you take it for what it is and you like horror movies, I think that you'll enjoy it and you'll be into it. But don't walk in there looking for something that it's not. Just have fun. And if you like that adrenaline rush of being terrified, then take your friends and enjoy!

Eliza Article on Sci Fi Wire
Sci Fi Wire posted an article with Eliza talking about her new series:
Though busy in her film career, Dushku had no qualms about returning to series TV. "A lot of actors are doing both [films and television], and I understand why, because television affects people just as much as film. People can turn you on in their living rooms, in their bedrooms, and follow you, watch your stories and be impacted and affected in the same way."

Variety Article on Fox's Schedule
From Variety:
Despite some key changes, Fox execs believe the 2003-04 sked reps the net's most stable in years, thanks to the fact that established shows will air on every night of the week. Even Thursday night, which features new hours "True Calling" and "The O.C.," will have something of an established series on during the fall since "The O.C." is set to bow in July or early Auguest.

Move to broadcast original scripted programming on Thursday nights signals Fox belief that it finally has the product to compete on a night dominated by NBC and CBS. Net had hope to offer original scripted shows on Thursday last season, but ultimately went for a mix of news and reality.

"We know we're going to have ratings issues on Thursday night, but we think we have the goods to perform with the 12-34 audience that will be available," a Fox insider said. "We have to have patience and let these shows grow."
'Tru Calling' Info and Pictures
The Futon Critic and Zap2It have posted pictures and information about Eliza's pilot (now called 'Tru Calling') from Fox press releases.

This is the information regarding the show:
TRU CALLING: What would you do if you could relive a day? If you're TRU DAVIES (ELIZA DUSHKU, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), you'd save lives. Tru is a smart, sexy recent college graduate who – when her high-powered medical internship falls through – finds herself working the midnight shift at the New York City morgue. One night, Tru questions reality when she thinks she hears a beautiful murder victim asking for her help. But the next morning, our heroine wakes up to find that she is back at the beginning of that very same day – twelve hours before a murder that only she knows about is set to take place. With the clock ticking, Tru is compelled to traverse the city of New York over those next twelve hours to prevent this wrongful death, while at the same time rescuing members of her own family from their dangerous and self-destructive lives. Directed by renowned filmmaker PHILLIP NOYCE ("The Quiet American"), TRU CALLING combines the sexiness and speed of "Alias" with the procedural crime format of "CSI." TRU CALLING is from 20th Century Fox Television and Original Television and comes from executive producer/writer JON FELDMAN ("American Dreams," "Roswell," "Dawson's Creek").

-- Production Companies: 20th Century Fox Television and Original Television

-- Executive Producers: Marty Adelstein, Neal Moritz, Dawn Parouse

-- Executive Producer/Writer: Jon Feldman

-- Director: Phillip Noyce

-- Cast: Eliza Dushku as Tru Davies, Shawn Reaves as Harrison, Jessica Collins as Meredith, A.J. Cook as Lindsay, Heath Freeman as Cameron, Zach Galifianakis as Davis
The Futon Critic has also posted three pictures of Eliza and the cast.

Zap2It is promising to post video clips, so keep checking in with them.

Eliza Hosting 'Interview with the Vampire'
Many thanks to Brian: on May 16 at 8PM ET/PT, Eliza will be hosting Interview with the Vampire on UPN. They'll also be showing footage from "Wrong Turn."
Tru on Thursdays?
The Los Angeles Times and the New York Daily News report that "Tru" will be scheduled for Thursdays:
Fox will have two new dramas on Thursdays.

In "True Calling," Eliza Dushku ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") plays a college grad who works nights at the New York City morgue and hears future murder victims asking for help.
Fox will present their upfronts on May 15, but Eliza should be doing publicity in NY from today, so keep an eye out for her in the news.
Wrong Turn Footage
Fangoria has posted a feature on 'Wrong Turn', including a clip from the movie. They'll also have more on their 'Wrong Turn' set visit in their next issue out on May 20.

More News on the Pilot
This is part of an article from the Hollywood Reporter yesterday, which confirms that Fox is likely to pick up "Tru":
Two new dramas are expected to bow on Fox in the fall: WBTV/Bruckheimer TV's "Skin," a contemporary "Romeo and Juliet," starring Ron Silver as an adult-film mogul, and 20th TV/Original TV's time-travel project "True Calling," toplined by Eliza Dushku. They're joining the previously picked-up new dramas "The O.C." and "Wonder Falls," which are expected to get an early launch in the summer.
Eliza's going to be in NYC on Wednesday for publicity purposes, and the official announcement with Rupert Murdoch (as "Tru" is going to be one of the feature shows for Fox next season.) Keep an eye out on the news for her.

Just a word that with all the big news happening, I'm only going to be posting the essentials for the time being. I'll have more of an explanation once things get sorted out.

Latest Pilot News
Good news! The latest word on the pilot is that Fox will be picking it up. (Though they won't make the official announcement until May 15 - and hopefully not jinxing it.) There's more news on the Operation True Calling thread on the message board, including a post from Heath Freeman who will play Eliza's best friend in the show. (According to Heath, the current name for the show is just "Tru".)

I'll be keeping the campaign site and the petition up for the time being, in case Fox does a 180 and we need to assemble. :) But thanks from me also to everyone who supported the campaign.
'Last Call with Carson Daly' Taping Report
Many thanks to Craig:
I just saw the taping of Eliza on Carson Daly in Las Vegas. She looked absolutely stunning. A pair of pants with the hips cut out and the prerequisite black tank top. She did talk about how she would like to be a pussycat doll, Carmen Electra was on the show as well. She even seemed to know who Fred ReRun Bery from the 70's TV show What's Happening was. I was impressed by her friendly nature and appreciation for the croud. She spoke with those of us that were close by and signed autographs. I hope her star keeps rising. I love to see her smile. Unfortunately NBC will not allow cameras around the taping. Sorry no pictures.
Eliza's appearance on Last Call with Carson Daly will air on Friday, May 16.

Operation True Calling
Fox is currently making their decision about what shows they're picking up for next season (they will announce their line-up on May 15.) We need to let Fox know that there is support for "True Calling" now, as they're making their final decisions. A campaign has been set up by the fans called Operation True Calling, to this end. Please check out Operation True Calling website to find out all you can do to help. You can sign a petition here.

'Wrong Turn' Official Site
Fox has put up an excellent official site for 'Wrong Turn', with a lot of new Eliza images. The movie comes out on May 30.
No 'Wrong Turn' Trailer
Props where it's due... Ken D. actually sent me the news that Fox won't be putting out a trailer for 'Wrong Turn' about four weeks ago, but now it's been confirmed with the studio by Coming Soon!:
The Eliza Dushku-starring horror film Wrong Turn will hit theaters on May 30 but we have yet to see any footage from the 20th Century Fox film, directed by Rob Schmidt.

Coming Soon! has learned from an anonymous source, and confirmed with the studio, that there will not be a theatrical trailer for Wrong Turn because the MPAA refused to approve three different versions. Each version was deemed "too intense." With the release date coming up fast the studio has decided to focus on TV buys instead.
